The New York Mets are a Major League baseball team based in New York City, New York. They are part of the National League’s Eastern Division. Established in 1962 as an expansion franchise, the New York Mets have won the World Series twice in the years 1969 and 1986. They have also won the National League East title five times in the years 1969, 1973, 1986, 1988, and 2006. In 1969, 1973, 1986, and 2000, the Mets won four National League pennants. They have had two Wild Card berths in 1999 and 2000.
